Classic black bear with a blade made of San Mai® steel

First developed by Bob Loveless, co-founder of the Knifemaker's Guild , this knife with its iconic subhilt design is perhaps the quintessential combat knife.

Its approximately 21 cm long blade offers excellent reach and incredible penetrating power with minimal physical effort. The subhilt makes it virtually impossible for the hand to slip and come into contact with the blade. This design also facilitates rapid retraction of the knife after an impact. The impeccably heat-treated San Mai® VG-10 steel blade is finished with a masterful 'double grind' (a combination of hollow and flat grinding) and then polished to a beautiful satin finish. The cutting edges have been finely ground and also polished to achieve the highest sharpness. The expertly hand-crafted, contoured handle scales, made of black G-10, are attached to the tang with six stainless steel pins.

San Mai® is an expertly crafted three-layer stainless steel. A hard carbon steel is sandwiched between flexible, low-carbon spring steel. This ensures maximum edge retention with great resistance to lateral and impact loads. San Mai® is a globally registered trademark of Cold Steel®. Produced in extremely small quantities, this steel is used exclusively for Cold Steel®'s most exclusive stationary collector sheets.
