The elegant shape of the golden oriole wakizashi by paul chen/hanwei has long been very popular with lovers of Japanese swords.

Its stunningly beautiful tsuba tells the story of a praying mantis that ambushes a cricket, but doesn't realize that it itself is being attacked by an oriole (also known as igoldamsel in German) that is hunted.

The hand-forged carbon steel blade has been differentially hardened and therefore has a pronounced hardness line ( hamon) . The deep blue of the saya is repeated by the tsuka-ito made of Japanese cotton, and a cricket adorns the kashira . Each wakizashi comes to protect the sword. with a matching cloth sheath and a Japanese sword care kit.
