Forging and heat-treating a 49 inch (approx. 125 cm) blade is no easy task, but the swordsmiths at Hanwei have risen to the challenge and Paul Chen is now very pleased. I am happy to be able to present a fully functional and historically correct odachi (also called a nodachi ).

With a total length of approximately 170 cm, only one word does justice to this Japanese longsword: huge!

An original piece from the 14th century, when the odachi was still in use, served as a model for this sword, which was used on the battlefield. It is simply a must-have for any lover of Japanese swords.
