Treat Yourself to the Scottish Battle of Culloden Target
Scottish targe from the battle of Culloden
This Scottish target is truly a piece of history. During the Jacobin Rebellion, Scottish shield-maker William Lindsay of Perth produced hundreds of targets for Charles Edward Stuart's army. He made clear the price differences between officers' shields and those of ordinary soldiers. It is highly likely that the original in our replica was also made by him, as it was captured at the Battle of Culloden in 1746 and taken to London along with the Jacobin prisoners. It now houses The Royal Armouries Museum at the Tower of London.
This excellent museum replica has a removable steel tip that, once mounted, turns it into a vicious weapon.
The target has a shield and decorative brass studs. The leather has beautiful Celtic embossing. The shield is made of hand-dyed leather and secured with brass studs.
