Treat Yourself to Scottish Objective of the Battle of Culloden
Scottish targe from the battle of Culloden
This Scottish target is truly a piece of history. During the Jacobin Rebellion, Scottish shield-maker William Lindsay of Perth made hundreds of targets for Charles Edward Stuart’s army. He made clear the price differences between officers’ shields and those of ordinary soldiers. It is highly likely that the original of our replica was also made by him, as it was captured at the Battle of Culloden in 1746 and taken to London along with Jacobin prisoners. It is now housed in the Royal Armouries Museum at the Tower of London.
This excellent museum replica has a removable steel tip that, once assembled, turns it into an evil weapon.
The target has a decorative brass shield and rivets. The leather has very nice Celtic ornaments engraved on it. The shield is made of hand dyed leather and fastened with brass rivets.
