Norman spangen helmet with nosepiece, medieval helmet made of 2 mm steel

This portable, combat-ready reconstruction of a Norman nasal helmet worn in the 10th/11th century is made of 2mm steel. The helmet consists of a conical-shaped helmet bell, overlapping band fittings or clasps (a diadem, a crown band, and an ear-to-ear band), and a nose plate (or nasal< /i>). The clasps are riveted to the bell, and the nose piece to the diadem.



The interior of this combat helmet is blackened for added corrosion protection and features a sewn-in adjustable leather inlay. The sturdy adjustable chin strap is made from dark brown leather* and features an antique brass buckle (*above images may vary from actual color).



This medieval spangenhelm is best suited to early or high medieval settings and is ideal for completing a proud Norman's armour. However, due to its rather simple appearance, our Norman helmet can also be used as a Viking helmet or a high medieval crusader helmet.

Of course, this medieval helmet is not only suitable for combat shows, reenactment, larp, ​​stage or tv/film, but is also an excellent decorative addition to every helmet collector's treasure trove.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend periodically caring for helmets (and armour in general), for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
