In feudal Japan, the neighboring Kouga and Iga clans have been bitter enemies for centuries, and the respective warring ninja families have been immortalized in Japanese literature. To commemorate these mysterious warriors, Hanwei released Kouga and Iga Ninja-To.

The blade of the Kouga Ninja-To is forged from carbon steel and differentially hardened. The cutting edge has a Rockwell hardness of approximately 60 HRC. This ninja sword features a detachable, twin-prong mounted tsuka with a black ray-skin cover and war sheath, decorated with the Kouga Mon menuki .

The blackened iron tsuba displays the Kouga family crest (called a mon ) and cutouts in the form of kanji characters, which are found on the repeating fuchi and kashira . Kanji and mon also decorate the blackened fittings of the saya , which ends in a point.
