The Rao Avio is a survival knife that, as a compact field knife with a sturdy, heavy blade, has a particularly secure lock.

The blade is secured further by a steel pin that is hand-screwed through two holes in the guard of the solid aluminum handle. This added security is necessary due to the particular stress this knife is exposed to during use.

The knife sheath is an essential part of this knife system. It allows the user to carry the knife with a clip or strap when open. The sheath can be attached to belts or gear using the MOLLE system.

The sheath keeps the knife in the open position, making it easy to use frequently.

The survival kit, included in a green sheath, includes a whistle, folding saw blade, water purification tabs, compass, copper wire, flint, mini flashlight, 2.5m lanyard, and a diamond sharpener. It can be attached to a knife sheath or vest using the MOLLE system.
