Lynn C. Thompson's love of Filipino martial arts (FMA) led him to develop the Luzon pocket knives in collaboration with Mike Wallace. Although several balisongs in his private collection served as inspiration, Luzons are legal-duty flipper-opening pocket knives. On all models, the blade is made of 8Cr13Mov stainless steel and has been hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 57-58 HRC. It has a sharp, stable point and enough belly to slice and grate equally well. The handle will make you long for the Philippines. Visually, it resembles a bamboo cane, and tactilely, several grooves allow for a variety of comfortable gripping techniques. What's more, the blade lock guarantees unparalleled safety, as the knives are equipped with a dual-security side-spring lock that is incredibly resistant to knocks and impacts. This means your fingers remain protected at all times, even in the most adverse conditions.

The Luzon is available in two sizes. Both models are equipped with a lanyard loop and a convertible pocket clip made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon, suitable for both right- and left-handed users.

8cr13mov stainless steel

8Cr13MoV has similar properties to AUS 8A and is a proven steel ideal for making work knives. At Cold Steels®, in our own tests, this high-carbon stainless steel has proven to be hard and corrosion-resistant. Like AUS 8A, it has good edge retention and is also easily resharpened.
