It's obvious why Kershaw nicknamed the Launch 10 the Claw. It features a nimble, tortoiseshell-style blade with angled surfaces on the spine and handle.



But despite all that angularity, the Launch 10 is comfortable to carry, hold and use. With its curved blade and sharp point position, the knife is especially useful for opening packages or shredding boxes. And thanks to its excellent cutting ability when pulling on the cuts, ropes and cords can also be easily manipulated.



The black DLC coating is made of CPM 154, a powder-coated steel that offers excellent sharpening ability and edge retention and is also characterized by good corrosion resistance, wear resistance and durability. And while the claw-shaped blade is curved downwards, the handle (made of strong yet lightweight anodized aluminum) rises towards the end. This results in a balanced and harmonious overall picture and ensures a secure grip.



The Launch 10 features an integrated rear spacer with a generous lanyard hole and a deep carry convertible pocket clip. The knife can be quickly opened and unlocked by pressing a button on the handle so that the blade can be folded back into the handle after use. The low profile of the button reduces the risk of accidental activation.

The legal status of switchblades in terms of acquisition, possession, handling, transport and transportation is very contradictory internationally. There are numerous different regulations depending on the respective state law.

Prohibited weapons and objects are listed in appendix 2 of the German Weapons Act (Waffg). According to § 2, paragraph 3, so-called switchblades are prohibited. The exception is switchblades whose blade protrudes from the side of the handle, is not sharpened on both sides and does not exceed 8.5 cm in length . However, switchblades that meet all these conditions (and are therefore not subject to a ban) are still weapons within the meaning of the German Weapons Act . Therefore, a minimum age of 18 is required for acquisition, possession and handling.



Regarding the legal situation in Germany regarding the carrying of weapons in public, reference is made to Section 42a of the Weapons Act and we strongly recommend that everyone obtain information from the weapons law office of the police authority responsible for their district.
