Kershaw's new 8100 model shares the same features as the original Funxion EMT and offers functions that could make a difference in an emergency. However, this new version of the Funxion EMT has a handle made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a non-slip K-Texture™ insert, making it lighter than its predecessor.

Thanks to the SpeedSafe opening mechanism, the Funxion EMT blade opens quickly and is ready to use in an instant. Simply press the ambidextrous flipper or slide your thumb forward, and the knife is ready to use.

The generously sized drop-point blade is perfect for a wide range of everyday and non-everyday cutting tasks. It is made from 8Cr13MoV steel, a steel characterized by excellent wear resistance, durability, and edge retention. Optimal safety is ensured by separate locks (liner locks) for the blade and other tools.

Thanks to its partially serrated edge, the blade can cut through woven material (e.g., seat belts) to free trapped accident victims. The integrated cable cutter makes working with nylon cord easier, and the same extendable arm as the cable cutter also houses a hex socket and a screwdriver bit. There's also a carbide (hard metal) glass breaker, which could help you get out of a difficult situation.

The handle is lightweight, stable, and equipped with a non-slip K-Texture™ insert. This unique structure (a repeating pattern of the letter K , as seen in the Kershaw company logo) ensures optimal grip and a secure hold. So you can safely carry the rescue knife in your pocket, it's equipped with Kershaw's Deep Carry Clip. And with the built-in carabiner, it can be hung virtually anywhere. As an added safety measure, the blade remains securely locked in the closed position as long as the carabiner is extended.
