The new Kershaw Model 8100 has the same features as the original Funxion EMT and offers features that could make all the difference in an emergency situation. However, this new version of the Funxion EMT has a handle made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a non-slip K-Texture™ insert and is therefore lighter than its predecessor.

Thanks to the speedsafe opening mechanism, the funxion emt blade can be opened quickly and is ready to use in an instant. Simply press the ambidextrous flipper or slide your thumb forward and the knife is ready to use.

The generously sized drop point blade is perfect for a wide range of everyday and not so everyday cutting tasks. It is made from 8cr13mov, a steel that is characterised by excellent wear resistance, robustness and edge retention. Optimum safety is ensured by separate locks (liner locks) for the blade and other tools.

Thanks to its partially serrated edge, the blade can cut through woven material (e.g. seat belts) to free trapped accident victims. The integrated cable cutter makes working with nylon cord easier, and a hex socket and screwdriver bit are also integrated into the same extendable arm as the cable cutter. There is also a glass breaker made of carbide (hard metal), which could help you out of a sticky situation.

The handle is light, stable and equipped with a non-slip K-Texture™ insert. This exclusive structure (a repeating pattern of the letter K , as seen in the Kershaw company logo) ensures an optimal grip and a secure hold. So that you can safely carry the rescue knife in your pocket, it is equipped with Kershaw’s Deep Carry clip. And with the built-in carabiner, it can be hung virtually anywhere. As an additional safety measure, the blade remains firmly locked in the closed position as long as the carabiner is extended.
