The Brawler is equipped with a modified tanto blade. This blade shape is often chosen for tactical and rescue knives that are expected to have good piercing properties, for example, to pierce tough material. The tanto shape, in which the full thickness of the material is preserved until just before the tip, gives the blade tip more stability than many other blade shapes and is therefore ideal for stabbing.

You may also have noticed that the Brawler has a swedge (a blade that is sharp but not tapered). This taper, or this bevel toward the back of the blade, slims the blade and thus ensures even greater penetrating power. At the same time, the straight underside of the blade offers excellent cutting performance, is ideal for tasks that require pressure on the blade, and can be easily resharpened. All of this makes it an excellent all-purpose knife for everyday use. The Brawler's handle is also characterized by high functionality. It has an angular curvature and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. The thumb ramp at the base of the blade has pronounced jimpings (notches or grooves) that provide additional grip. When open, the flipper serves as a guard and offers the hand additional protection during use. The Brawler is equipped with the SpeedSafe opening mechanism and can therefore be opened quickly and effortlessly with one hand. To release the blade from the handle, simply press the flipper. The SpeedSafe system takes care of the rest, so the blade locks into the working position and is ready to use in an instant.

The overall package is completed with sturdy handles made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon, a secure closure, and Kershaw's convertible pocket clip, which allows for four carrying positions.
