For many years the Blur has been an all-time favourite in the Kershaw range. Whether on the job or at home in your own workshop, this knife is perfect for hard use.

The recurve cutting blade is perfect for a wide range of cutting jobs. And this shape gives it not only a high cutting capacity, but also excellent piercing properties. The handle scales made of so-called aircraft aluminum are light and durable. And this particular model has a small tip made of carbide (hard metal) integrated into one of the handle scales. The choice of the right material plays a crucial role here, because in an emergency situation a simple steel tip will not have the same effect as a carbide tip. If you have to break a windshield to free a trapped accident victim, it simply has to be made of hard metal. And with the Blur glass breaker it is like that.

The blade makes the Blur an even better rescue tool. It is made from high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and with its partially serrated edge it can easily cut through straps (e.g. seat belts) and other tricky cuts – and this can be absolutely crucial in an emergency. The Glass Breaker knife also put great emphasis on grip (even in unfavorable conditions). The 6061-T6 anodized aluminum handles are equipped with Trac-Tec Grip Tape anti-slip inserts, which provide additional slip resistance and ensure that the knife stays in place – i.e. in your hand.

The Blur Glassbreaker is equipped with the SpeedSafe® opening mechanism and can therefore be easily opened with one hand – which is also a great advantage when you consider that in an emergency situation you cannot always use both and still have your hands free. By briefly pushing the joystick forward, the spring resistance of the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism is overcome. The SpeedSafe takes over the rest and the blade can be quickly and easily extended from the handle. The reversible pocket clip is designed for tip-up and tip-down carrying, and a hole in the handle allows for the attachment of a lanyard.
