Cold Steel® has never been afraid to break with convention. For the Cold Steel® team, function is always the top priority. Cold Steel® knives are made to perform, and when it comes to knives, bigger is always better. When everyone else in the knife industry was busy making the smallest, thinnest, and most delicate knives possible, Cold Steel® therefore launched a collection of swords that can only be classified in one category: pocket swords!

The Cold Steel® Espada® is inspired by classic Spanish pocket knives, but is extremely modern in design and materials. The mega knives immediately caused a stir!

The Espada® series is the result of a collaboration between knifemaker Andrew Demko and Cold Steels® President Lynn C. Thompson. This collection is the perfect fusion of Demko's brilliant technical talent and Thompson's extensive knowledge of edged weapons and tools. Despite their impressive size, these highly efficient folding knives are still surprisingly light to carry. They've been expertly designed to fit comfortably in your pocket, and you'll soon forget you're carrying such a large and impressive blade. Thanks to Demko's patented thumb disk, the Espada® can be opened directly from the pocket hem when removing it from the bag, making it ready for use in no time.

The blade steel of the Greatsword® was deliberately chosen: the edge can be honed extremely finely, yet remains sharp for a long time. The knife also features masterfully polished G-10 handle scales. The surface of the bolster and the 7075 aluminum frame have also been polished to a high shine.

To protect against the sharp blade, each sword® features Cold Steels® patented Tri-Ad® locking mechanism. This lock has proven to be surprisingly shock-resistant and solid. It's virtually impossible for the blade to close in your hand. Through Cold Steels® famous toughness and stress tests, the XL sword® can not only easily support a weight of 272 kg (600 lbs) hanging freely, but it can also easily support a hanging engine block!

CPM S35VN steel

This is an extraordinary American super steel. CPM S35VN is not only extremely tough and durable, but it can also be sharpened very well to razor sharpness and maintains this edge for a long time. With its uniform microstructure, this very fine-grained powder steel offers good and consistent properties: durable, reliable, highly corrosion-resistant, tough, and hard even with finely ground cutting edges. A good, versatile steel for premium knives and tools.
