The approximately 16cm long blade fits perfectly into the handle. It is made from Japanese 420J2 stainless steel and has just the right amount of flexibility to make filleting easier. The softer nature of this steel allows the blade to bend without breaking and to glide effortlessly through the fish to create the perfect fillet. In addition, the steel used here has a very high corrosion resistance, and this is particularly important when working in an environment dominated by water.

The handle is made of durable fiberglass-reinforced nylon and is over-molded with rubber and its surface is finished with Kershaw’s exclusive K-Texture ™. This structure (a repeating pattern of the letter K, as seen in the Kershaw company logo) provides the necessary grip and a secure hold at all times, even when hands are slippery.

A stable rear lock ensures that the blade is securely locked during filleting and can also be easily unlocked when the job is finished. A hole in the handle allows for the attachment of a lanyard.
