The result of a collaboration between Cold Steel® and award-winning custom knifemaker Andrew Demko, the 4-Max was designed with one goal in mind: to pack maximum power and performance into a 4-inch blade. Crafted to Andrew's exacting specifications, this knife bridges the gap between mass-produced knives and expensive custom-made knives, and is constructed from the highest-quality materials.

Its extra-wide, drop-point blade with a stonewashed finish is forged from S35V stainless steel and offers a near-perfect balance between durability and edge retention. Milled titanium plates and spacers, as well as 3D CNC-milled G-10 glass bead handle scales, give this already incredibly robust knife even more power!

This knife features the innovative Tri-Ad® locking mechanism, making it possibly the strongest mass-produced pocket knife Cold Steel® has ever produced. The 4-Max withstood all of Cold Steel®’s infamous and extremely grueling hardness and stress tests across the board and was even able to easily support a free-hanging weight of just over 800 lbs (360 kg) – without any damage!

CPM S35VN steel

This is an extraordinary American super steel. CPM S35VN is not only extremely tough and durable, but it can also be sharpened very well to razor sharpness and maintains this edge for a long time. With its uniform microstructure, this very fine-grained powder steel offers good and consistent properties: durable, reliable, highly corrosion-resistant, tough, and hard even with finely ground cutting edges. A good, versatile steel for premium knives and tools.
