The original Cold Steel® Black Talon was a revolutionary, handcrafted knife in many ways that was only produced in a limited edition. It featured a modified curved* Talon blade made of Japanese San Mai® steel, a smooth titanium frame with G-10 handle scales, and a highly stable locking mechanism for its time.



For a long time Cold Steels® fans have been begging them to release a redesigned version of this iconic knife. Cold Steel® just doesn't say no and now offers a freshly designed version that has been dubbed the Black Talon II .



The Black Talon II was created in collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and knifemaker Andrew Demko. Like the original model, its blade is characterized by the distinctive, sharply drawn-down tip and pronounced belly. However, this version is crafted from satin-finished S35VN steel and features a redesigned tip that is even more durable.



Even in cold or wet conditions, the G-10 handle scales guarantee a perfect grip and maximum hold. They remain gentle on clothing, for example when removing it from your bag. The contrast between the deep black handle scales and the wonderfully shiny satin-finished blade gives this beautiful and elegant folding knife even more charisma and style. 2019 Model - The Black Talon II with serrated blade made of S35VN steel replaces the discontinued previous model made of CTS®. XHP steel (item no. CST-22BTS).

This is an extraordinary American super steel. CPM S35VN is not only extremely strong and durable, it can also be sharpened very well to razor sharpness and maintains this edge for a long time. With its uniform microstructure, this very fine-grained powder steel offers good and consistent properties: durable, reliable, highly resistant to corrosion, tough and hard even with finely ground cutting edges. A good all-round steel for top-quality knives and tools.
