Enjoy Italian Monastery, Circa 1460, 1.6mm Steel
Italian aconite, approx. 1460, 1.6 mm steel
- Suitable for exhibition combat -
This replica of an Italian monkshood is made of 1.6 mm thick, hand-forged steel. The original is dated 1460. These helmets were not only very common in Italy, but also in Switzerland and southern Germany, especially among foot soldiers.
The wide brim not only protects the head, but also the shoulders, chest, and back from dangers from above, such as the hail of arrows from late medieval archers. The brim and the intersecting, wavy steel bands are riveted to the helmet's bell. The bell consists of two parts welded together in the middle. Although the material thickness is only 1.6 mm, the helmet can definitely be described as combat-ready due to its workmanship.
Includes a high-quality padded leather insert and chin strap for a perfect fit.
