Gift Viking Boots, Dark Brown
Wiking boots, dark brown
The idea for these half boots is based on archaeological finds made in Haithabu (Schleswig-Holstein) in early Hedeby. They date back to the 9th and 11th centuries, a time when Haithabu was an important trading center for the Vikings.
Since these shoes come from exactly this period, they can definitely be described as Viking shoes.
A special feature is the four rolled leather studs used to close the shoes and adjust them individually. Another characteristic feature is the triangular sole raised at the heel. The sole is fully nailed, making it particularly durable. The shaft extends well above the ankle.
Details:
- Material: cowhide
- Nailed leather sole, approximately 5 mm thick
- Color: dark brown
- Available in sizes: 37 to 45
Please note: The robustness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks, and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! Therefore, we recommend fitting them with rubber soles from the shoemaker of your choice. We would also like to point out that leather is a natural product, and variations in color and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, no two pairs of these leather shoes are alike, and the images above are for illustrative purposes only.
This is an ulfberth® product.
