Viking Half Boots, Dark Brown SIZE 37
Gift Viking Stockings, Dark Brown
Wiking boots, dark brown
The idea for these half boots is based on archaeological finds that were made in Haithabu (Schleswig-Holstein), in early Hedeby. They are classified between the 9th and 11th centuries, a time when Haithabu was an important trading centre for the Vikings.
Since these shoes come from exactly this era, they can definitely be described as Viking shoes.
A special feature are the four rolled leather buttons with which the shoes are closed and individually adjusted. Another characteristic feature is the triangular sole raised at the heel. The sole is completely nailed, which makes it particularly durable. The shaft extends well above the ankle.
Details:
- Material: cowhide
- Nailed leather sole approx. 5 mm thick
- Color: dark brown
- Available as standard in sizes: 37 to 45
Please note: the robustness of shoes based on historical patterns may not meet modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete blocks and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend equipping them with rubber soles from the shoemaker of your choice. We would also like to point out that leather is a natural product and that variations in colour and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, no two pairs of these leather shoes are the same and the images above are for exemplary purposes only.
