Discover Roman Face Mask, Tinned Brass
Roman face mask
A very fine replica of a Roman face mask. The original was found mounted on an Imperial Gallic cavalry helmet (item no. 1716604901). The mask is similar to the mask found in Kalkriese. But even in the Middle Ages, it was quite common for wealthy lepers, for example, to wear face masks.
While the previous model was made of brass and therefore very heavy, this revised, now hand-powered version is a truly authentic and highly successful piece.
The interior is fully lined with leather. Mounting leather straps for use or directly to a helmet can be done quickly with little effort and a little skill.
