thor's hammer, also called mjölnir (the malmer), is the symbol of the thunder god thor (donar in german). thor was sometimes regarded as the highest germanic god, especially among simple farmers and free warriors, while scandinavian jarls and kings tended to view odin (wodan or wotan in german) as the supreme deity. according to mythology, the dwarf brokk forged mjölnir. you can throw it and never miss the target. thor successfully fought with the hammer against the giants that always threatened the god lineage of the vanir and aesir.

Today Thor's hammer is considered an ornament and a talisman, but above all it is an expression of paganism and atheism in a Christian environment.
