The war hammer was probably the ideal weapon against opponents clad in plate armour. The heavy hammer head could massively dent helmet and armour with just a few blows and the punch could rip open this armour like a modern can opener! In battle, the hammer head was usually used first to knock the enemy down and render them unable to fight. Cold Steels® modern interpretation of the war hammer is already very popular among martial artists and hema reenactors. This battle hammer is highly maneuverable and easy to wield with one or both hands. The head is forged from 1055 carbon steel and differentially hardened.
