Marcus Germanicus – Spearhead, approx. 4th century AD
Historical authenticity in a hand-forged replica
This Germanic spearhead , also known as a frame (from the Latin framea ), is a reconstruction based on archaeological finds dating from the 1st to 5th centuries AD in southern Germany. It is a typical Germanic javelin, similar to the Franconian javelin, but distinct from the lightweight model described by Tacitus. Used both as a throwing weapon and in close combat, its effectiveness is documented by cut marks found on spear shafts in ancient Norse moorlands.
Rustic and realistic design
Our replica is hand-forged from a single piece of carbon steel , with a slightly sharpened edge and an unpolished finish that preserves visible hammer marks, providing a genuinely rustic look. It's an ideal piece for historical reenactors or collectors seeking visual and material fidelity.
Note: Delivered without shaft (spear shaft).
