Medieval cloak with velvet trim, unisex, black

Capes were an integral part of clothing throughout the Middle Ages and were worn by all social classes. They were available with and without hoods and in different lengths and cuts. The cape provided protection and warmth in bad weather. If the cape did not offer sufficient protection, a hood was worn over the cape.

This elegant unisex cape, also called a wheel coat or a half-circle coat , is made of cotton fabric and trimmed with velvet. It closes with a chain that is placed around two metal buttons.

Care instructions:
Cotton velvet should not be put in the washing machine as velvet wrinkles irreversibly. Velvet should also not be ironed as this will cause the pile to lose its depth. We recommend removing light stains with a clothes brush in the direction of the pile. If there is significant contamination, we recommend taking the coat to the dry cleaners.
