Cold Steels® Trail Master® is the result of years of development work, practical testing and modifications. It was designed by Lynn C. Thompson with the goal of creating the world’s best all-purpose Bowie knife. Handcrafted in Japan from San Mai® VG-1 steel, this model is only produced in a strictly limited edition. A Cor-Ex™ sheath is included.



VG-1 San Mai® is an expertly crafted, three-layer stainless steel. A hard carbon steel is sandwiched between flexible, low carbon steel. This ensures maximum edge retention with great resistance to lateral and impact loads. This steel is manufactured in extremely small quantities in Japan and is manufactured by Cold Steel® used for the most exclusive and valuable fixed blades.
