A good kukri is a steadfast companion in an emergency and an essential survival tool. Finding a more versatile knife is a difficult task.

For more than two decades, Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson has been exploring the potential of the kukri knife. When she decided to design a new kukri, she was inspired by the many hours she spent at Cold Steel's training center. Looking for ways to improve the already near-perfect design, he and his team spared no effort and spent countless hours testing various prototypes.

Lynn C. Thompson recognized that many of the elements that make a great knife also prove ideal as a survival tool: a sharp blade, a solid point, a good hand guard, and a versatile handle are all key ingredients. After stripping the kukri down to its essentials, he was able to redesign the knife from the ground up.

The redesigned blade presents itself in a completely different light: it has lost nothing of the cutting power that made the kukri a legend, but its striking power and penetrating power have increased. The handle with integrated guard not only protects the user's precious fingers but also gives the knife a significantly different balance and weight distribution.

The newly named Royal Kukri has been extensively tested in practice. It proved to be an excellent multifunctional hunting knife, suitable for the toughest hunting tasks, from chopping firewood to shooting wounded animals. As a last resort in a critical situation, it could also serve as a self-defense weapon.

A sturdy Cor-Ex™ sheath ensures secure protection for the fully sharpened 1055 carbon steel blade, coated with a durable oxide layer and matte black enamel finish.
