Tonbo katana

The tonbo katana blade is hand forged from powdered steel, folded, and has a medium-length (chu) kissaki .

The saya is painted deep black and features gold dragonflies. High quality ray skin was used for the tsuka . The tsuka-ito is made of violet-coloured Japanese cotton. The tsuba is made of blackened iron and features an exquisite dragonfly motif with gold and bronze decorations. The sageo silk is elegantly woven in dark blue and black. Fuchi and kashira are black with bronze and brass details. Kojiri , koiguchi and kurikata are made of polished buffalo horn. The habaki is cast from a single piece of brass. You can complete your collection with the matching tonbo wakizashi (item number sh2470).
