This katana is a decorative interpretation of the sword carried by Tanjiro Kamado in the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba .

It has a slightly sharpened carbon steel blade that is approximately 67.5 cm long. Its tsuka is wrapped with a black synthetic leather handle and lined with red imitation stingray skin. Its tuba is painted black and shaped like a multi-spoked wheel. The black-coated saya is made of wood.

Tanjiro's nichirin sword

In the anime/manga, Tanjiro joined the Demon Slayers to find the devil who killed his family and turned his little sister Nezuko into a demon.

After passing the selection process, Tanjiro was allowed to choose the material from which his Nichirin sword (Sun Sword) would be forged. These are special blades crafted exclusively for the Demon Slayer Corps by particularly accomplished swordsmiths. They are made from scarlet sand and ore found on Mount Yoko. These materials have been perpetually bathed in sunlight, granting them the ability to slay demons. Another special characteristic of the blade's material is that the blade's color changes when its owner first draws it. After Tanjiro's swordsmith, Hotaru Haganezuka , gave him his sword, the blade turned pitch-black, which is considered a bad omen, as owners of black swords never lived long.

But this black sword serves the young demon slayer faithfully, even if Tanjiro repeatedly clashed with its blacksmith because he damaged or even broke his sword repeatedly.
