Katana - tanjiro, demon slayer



This katana is a decorative interpretation of the sword carried by Tanjiro Kamado in the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba .



It has a slightly sharpened carbon steel blade of approximately 67.5 cm in length. Its tsuka is wrapped with a black synthetic leather handle and lined with a red imitation stingray skin. Its tuba is painted black and is shaped like a wheel with many spokes. The black-coated saya is made of wood.



Tanjiro's Nichirin Sword

In the anime/manga, Tanjiro joined the Demon Slayers to find the devil who killed his family and turned his little sister Nezuko into a demon.



After passing the selection process, Tanjiro was allowed to choose the material from which his Nichirin Sword (Sun Sword) would be forged. These are special blades crafted exclusively for the Demon Slayer Corps by especially outstanding bladesmiths. They are made from scarlet sand and ore found on Mount Yoko. These materials have been perpetually bathed in sunlight, granting them the ability to slay demons. Another special feature of the blade's material is that the color of the blade changes when its owner first draws it. After the bladesmith in charge of Tanjiro, Hotaru Haganezuka , gave him his sword, the blade turned pitch black, which is considered a bad omen since owners of black swords never lived long.



But this black sword faithfully serves the young demon hunter, even if Tanjiro repeatedly clashed with his blacksmith because he damaged or even broke his sword repeatedly.
