This training katana gives the swordsman the opportunity to own and use a Hanwei sword at the price of a traditional sword. The blade is hand-forged and hardened in the same manner as more expensive swords, with a Rockwell hardness of 60 HRC on the edge and 40 HRC on the back of the blade. The hardness rating is authentic and exceptional. The cost savings made it possible to add fittings that are strong enough to withstand the rigors of the training room without sacrificing authenticity.

The training wakisashi (sh2061) and training tanto (sh2254) are also available in this series.
