The monkey katana has a folded steel blade that combines outstanding performance with excellent hardness ( hamon ). The blackened iron tsuba depicts two monkeys plundering a peach tree. A peach adorns each of the fuchi and kashira .

Real ray skin ( same ) was used for the tsuka of this samurai sword, and the tightly tied tsuka-ito is made of premium black Japanese cotton leather. The saya is painted deep black and has a black cotton sageo .
