Nowadays, one can only find interpretations of the ancient originals from feudal Japan, which were designed for shorter fighters (rarely taller than 1.70 m). However ingenious, these Japanese swords are not ideal for the modern warrior, who is significantly larger and stronger than his historical counterpart!



To correct this imbalance, Cold Steel® launched the Dragonfly Series, a collection of Japanese swords with thicker, wider, and heavier blades. The handles of these beautiful swords feature a black stingray skin (samé) inlay and a striking aquamarine silk cord. The black metal guard plate and end cap are decorated with a dragonfly motif. The highly curved and hand-polished 1060 carbon steel blades end in a long, iris-leaf-shaped tip for maximum cutting performance.



Included with each sword are two protective cases: a blue cotton carrying bag and a richly decorated decorative storage bag made from the finest and strongest silk brocade.
