Get Crane Katana, Marto
Crane katana of marto
Historically, the katana was one of the traditional Japanese swords used by the samurai of feudal Japan.
The first use of the word katana as a name for a long sword that was different from a tachi dates back to the Kamakura period (1185–1333).
The katana was often paired with a similar, smaller sword, such as a wakizashi, or it could also be carried with the tanto, a smaller, similarly shaped dagger. Combining a katana with a smaller sword is called a daisho. Only samurai were allowed to wear the daisho: it represented the samurai's social power and personal honor.
The katana is characterized by its distinctive appearance: a curved, thin, single-edged blade with a circular guard and a long, two-handed handle. It was historically associated with the samurai of feudal Japan.
