The Paul Chen/Hanwei Wind and Thunder series katana was specifically designed for martial artists seeking a sword designed for heavy cutting tests.

It features a heavier, thicker blade with traditional-style mountings and fittings. The Raiden (the Japanese god of thunder, also known as Raijin ) motif tsuba is crafted from blackened stainless steel. The fuchi and kashira are decorated with a Japanese tomoe motif. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine ray skin ( same ), and the black tsuka-ito is made of premium Japanese cotton. The saya is painted jet black and has a black cotton sageo . This katana is an excellent choice for battojutsu martial artists.
