Katana of the Three Monkeys
The three wise monkeys are a well-known image. Together they represent the proverbial principle of see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. The three monkeys are called mizaru , who covers his eyes and sees no evil, kikazaru, who covers his ears and hears no evil, and iwazaru , who covers his mouth and speaks no evil.
The Three Monkeys Katana was designed with a traditional shinogi zukuri blade constructed of bo-hi to reduce weight and improve balance and handling. The carbon steel blade is hand forged and differentially hardened. The blackened tsuba made of iron features a motif of the three wise monkeys.
