Great wave katana
The Great Wave katana, created by Paul Chen for Hanwei, features the Japanese tomoe motif, often used as family crests and as an ornament for shrines. The tsuba, fuchi, and kashira are made of blackened iron and decorated with the tomoe mon .
The blade, hand-forged from T10 carbon steel, has a long (o)kissaki . It has been differentially hardened and has a pronounced hardness line ( hamon ).
The saya is painted deep black. The tsuka , covered in ray skin, has a high-quality black Japanese cotton wrap and matching sageo .
You can complete your collection with the matching Great Wave Wakizashi (item number SH5002) and Great Wave Tanto (item number SH5022).
