Flower Katana

Nature and the natural world have been a source of artistic inspiration in Japanese culture for many centuries. Floral motifs, from chrysanthemums to cherry blossoms, are commonly used in Japanese decor and always attract attention.

The Cold Steel Flower Katana features a stylized floral pattern on the silver/nickel tsuba and kashira. The blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel and has a convex grind. The blade edge has undergone a distinct heat treatment to create a distinctive Japanese-style clay-hardened hamon.

The beautiful wooden handle is tightly wrapped with black silk cord and includes the traditional menuki and samé (ray skin) backing. The included black lacquered saya (sheath) is made of hardwood and features traditional Japanese silver/nickel fittings.
