Nature and the natural world have been a source of artistic inspiration in Japanese culture for many centuries. Floral motifs are commonly used in Japanese decoration, from chrysanthemums to cherry blossoms, and they always catch the eye.



The Cold Steel Flower Katana features a stylized floral pattern on the silver/nickel tsuba and kashira. The blade is made from forged 1060 carbon steel and has a convex grind. The blade edge has undergone a differentiated heat treatment to create a distinctive Japanese-style clay-hardened hamon.



The beautiful wooden handle is tightly wrapped with black silk cord and includes the traditional menuki and samé (ray skin) backing. The included black lacquered saya (sheath) is made of hardwood and features traditional Japanese silver/nickel fittings.
