Enjoy Bamboo Katana
Bamboo katana
In 1876, samurai were banned from using their swords in public. This attempt to end a centuries-old tradition was not accepted by the proud warrior class, and thus the stick katana was born. The venerated blades were now concealed by harmless canes, but the katana continued to exist.
The Hanwei Bamboo Stick Katana combines an artfully carved bamboo scabbard and handle with a hand-forged blade (nagasa). Forged and crafted from 1065 carbon steel, it has been traditionally clay-hardened. The hardness of the edge and the strength of the blade body, created using this technique, embody the true secret of the samurai sword.
