This honey wine combines the sweetness of mead with Latvian balsam from Riga. This aromatic and spicy bitter is made with 24 different herbs, including birch buds, valerian, mint, wormwood, calamus, and cranberries.

To make honey wines, Dansk Mjød relies on old, traditional recipes with the addition of juices and herbs. Another special feature of many Danish meads is that fermentation is halted by adding alcohol. This gives the honey wine an unusual strength, which is kept in check by the remaining sweetness, achieving a liqueur-like smoothness and balance.
