- The sword blades are hand-forged from carbon steel and traditionally tempered with a fine hamon line.
- The sharp blades have been provided with a bo-hi (channel) to reduce weight.
- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with real fish skin (seed).
- The handle wrap (tsuka-ito) is traditionally made of black cotton.
- Two menukis are inserted into the handle.
- The sword ribs are extra long and are attached to the handle with two bamboo mekugi pins.
- The scabbards (saya) are made of wood.
- The blade clamps (habaki) are made of brass.
- Made according to museum templates.
John Lee Noh Katana
The tsuba is used by actors in traditional Japanese Noh theater, which, although created in the 13th century, remains very popular today. A katana with a beautiful, glossy red lacquered scabbard and a red handle wrap.
