- The sword blades are hand-forged from carbon steel and traditionally tempered with a fine hamon line.
- The sharp blades have been provided with a bo-hi (channel) to reduce weight.
- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with real fish skin (seed).
- The handle wrap (tsuka-ito) is traditionally made of black cotton.
- The menukis are embedded in the handle.
- The sword ribs are extra long and are attached to the handle with two bamboo pins (mekugi).
- The scabbards (saya) are made of wood.
- The blade clamps (habaki) are made of brass.
- Made according to museum templates.
John Lee Musashi Ichi Tanto
Miamoto Musashi went down in Japanese history as one of the most impressive samurai. He lived between 1584 and 1645. He is considered Japan's greatest swordsman. He was an artist and craftsman at the same time. His founding of a tsuba-making school is unforgettable. His most famous and very simple tsuba consists of two oval rings.
