Masterpieces of Asian blacksmithing

- The sword blade is hand forged from carbon steel and hardened in a traditional way with a fine hamon line.

- The sharp blade has a bo-hi (channel) to reduce weight.

- The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, covered with real fish skin (seed).

- The handle wrap (tsuka-ito) is traditionally made of black cotton.

- Two menukis are inserted into the handle.

- The tang of the sword is especially long and is fixed to the handle with 2 bamboo pegs (mekugi).

- The sheath (saya) is made of wood.

- The blade clamp (habaki) is made of brass.

- Made according to historical models.

Saigo Takamori – the last known samurai from the movie The Last Samurai . A long tradition ended in 1877 with Saigo Takamori, the last samurai. He refused to accept the new political situation – the abolition of the samurai – and launched a final uprising against the new government. However, his samurai fighters stood no chance against the military, who were already equipped with modern firearms.



Each sword comes with a seal guaranteeing its authenticity. You will receive each sword in a fabric sheath and in a high-quality wooden collector's box. Each sword comes with a care set and a high-gloss lacquered stand lined with felt.
