Give yourself John Lee Kamakura Tachi
John lee kamakura tachi
The Kamakura period (1185–1333) was a crucial era in Japanese history. It is characterized by the first military government (shogunate), established in 1192 by Minamoto no Yoritomo. The name of this period comes from the seat of government at the time, which was located in the city of Kamakura (approximately 50 km southwest of Tokyo). Along with armor (yoroi) and the combat knife (tanto), the tachi was commonly used on the battlefield. Unlike the katana, the tachi is attached to the belt with its defensive hook and is worn with the blade pointing downwards.
The John Lee Kamakura tachi has a deliberately simple appearance, distinguishing it from later replicas, which were usually richly decorated and used only for ceremonial purposes. The hand-forged blade is made of hardened, razor-sharp carbon steel. The handle is traditionally wrapped in black silk and lined with genuine ray skin. The decorations (tsuba, menuki, fuchi, and kashira) are typical of a tachi and based on historical originals. The detailed military hanger is made of high-quality, two-color sageo leather and cotton inlay.
The sword is delivered with a printed cloth bag, a collector's box, a seal, and a certificate.
