- The sword blades are hand forged from 1095 carbon steel.
- The razor-sharp blades are traditionally clay-tempered and feature an authentic hamon line.
- Rockwell hardness of 60° HRC on the edge and 40° HRC on the back of the blade.
- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with authentic ray skin (seed).
- Handle wraps (tsuka-ito) are traditionally made of black cotton.
- Two menukis embedded in the handles.
- The sword ribs are extra long and are attached to the handle with two bamboo pins (mekugi).
- The scabbards (saya) are made of wood.
- Made according to historical models.
The cutting test katana with elaborate mounts. The accessories are decorated with the hannya mask. The hannya mask comes from Japanese Noh theater and is probably the most famous mask of all. It represents the woman who became a demon out of anger and jealousy.
