Masterpiece of Asian blacksmithing

- The sword blades are hand forged in 1095 carbon steel.

- The razor-sharp blades are traditionally tempered with clay coating and have an authentic hamon line.

- Rockwell hardness of 60° hrc on the edge and 40° hrc on the back of the blade.

- The handles (tsuka) are made of wood, covered with authentic ray skin (seed).

- The handle wraps (tsuka-ito) are traditionally made of black cotton.

- Two menukis embedded in the handles.

- The sword rods are especially long and are fixed to the handle with 2 bamboo pins (mekugi).

- The sheaths (saya) are made of wood.

- Made according to historical models.



The cutting test katana with elaborate mounts. The fittings are decorated with the hannya mask. The hannya mask comes from the Japanese noh theatre and is probably the most famous mask of all. It represents the woman who turned into a demon out of anger and jealousy.
