When you finish the thousandth practiced cut, slicing through the air with a perfect shape, you feel a certain peace come over you. Practicing with your sword is like a form of meditation.

DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Jian is a slender and elegant latex hybrid weapon inspired by Chinese tradition. The sword is 75 cm long and features a 62 cm straight blade with a fuller and rain guard. The small crossguard is 9 cm wide and oval-shaped, protecting the 13 cm handle, cast and painted to resemble realistic carvings of painted wood and metal.

The blade is made of closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, while the handle is made of polyurethane foam, allowing for greater detail and zero maintenance. HISTORY

• Used for the last 2500 years in China
• Known as “The Knight of Arms”, wielded by the famous Sun Jian who defended the Empire of ancient China
• Used by practitioners known as jianke
• A fuller groove, or the groove that runs the entire length of the blade, was added to the weapons to lighten the blade while adding structural strength.
