In feudal Japan, the neighboring Kouga and Iga clans have been bitter enemies for centuries, and their respective warring ninja families have been immortalized in Japanese literature. To commemorate these mysterious warriors, Hanwei launched Kouga and Iga Ninja-to.

The blade of the Iga Ninja-to was forged from carbon steel and differentially hardened. The edge has a Rockwell hardness of approximately 60 HRC. This ninja sword features a detachable, twin-pronged tsuka with a genuine ray skin covering, a traditional cotton wrap, and a menuki of clouds, sun, water, and moon.

The blackened fittings include a tsuba with the Iga family coat of arms (called mon ) and a wave motif. Both symbols are repeated on the fuchi and kashira . The saya has a partial rattan wrap and an extra tip.
