The quandao (also known as guandao , guan dao or kwan tao ) was named after its creator, the great general Guan Yu, and was originally a powerful weapon of war weighing over 45 kg. However, over time, this polearm evolved into a martial arts weapon with significantly less weight (the hsu quandao presented here by Hanwei weighs approximately 2.5 kg).



The carbon steel blade has a distal taper to enhance balance and is decorated with engraved dragon motifs. A traditional tassel is attached to the hook of the blade. The wooden shaft ends with a quatrefoil-shaped tip. The guard element is antiqued. Paul Chen's Quandao is lightweight and perfectly balanced, making it ideal for any martial artist looking to train with such an impressive weapon.



A matching display stand for this quandao is also available separately (item no. oh2290). The stand is made of solid oak and beautifully displays the weapon in an upright position.
