These straight bladed Chinese swords (jian) were designed by world famous Chinese martial arts master Sifu Adam Hsu and are becoming increasingly popular in the Tai Chi scene.

For Sifu Hsu, functionality, weight and balance are always crucial factors in all of his designs and combined with Hanwei's high standards of quality and workmanship, the result is elegant and beautiful swords.

The blades are forged from high carbon spring steel, have a pronounced central ridge and taper distally. This ensures optimum flexural rigidity and produces a clear, hissing sound with every stroke of the sword.

Each sword features a raised, embossed dragon motif on the Ming-style guard element, and the open pommel is perfect for attaching a decorative tassel. Inside the scabbard, the unique duck-bill lock system on the underside ensures the sword is held securely.
