Discover a Viking Axe Made of Cast Steel, Type L, Engraved and Leather Covered.

Viking axe made of cast steel, type l, with engraving and covered in leather

Axes were important tools and weapons in the Vikings' daily lives. They were used for felling trees, working wood, or fighting. Axe heads were made of different materials such as stone, bone, or metal and came in different shapes and sizes depending on their intended use. Many Viking axes were lavishly decorated and served not only as practical tools but also as status symbols. Today, Viking axes are popular among collectors and are often used in films, television series, and video games to convey the image of the fierce and fearless Vikings.

The head shape of the Viking axe offered here corresponds to the Petersen type L. The blade of this axe is made of EN45 carbon steel and features a Nordic-style motif. The axe handle is made of sturdy ash wood and is wrapped in leather.

This early medieval axe is primarily designed as a collectible or decorative object. It's also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume, and will make your transformation into a proud warrior simply perfect.

Details:

- Blade material: EN45 carbon steel (spring steel, not stainless), cast

- Handle material: ash wood

- Total length (with axle): approx. 60 cm

- Shaft length: approx. 55.3 cm

- Shaft thickness: approx. 2.5 x 3.5 cm

- Head: approx. 17 x 8.3 cm

- Weight: approx. 1080 g

The above specifications may vary slightly from copy to copy.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend regularly treating the axe blade, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
