Treat yourself to a Viking Axe Made of Steel, Hand Forged, Type D
Viking axe made of steel, hand forged, type d
Whether used for felling trees, building ships, houses and furniture, or for use in battle, the axe was an essential and versatile tool for the Vikings. The shape and size of the axe heads depended on the intended use. But there were also artistically decorated axes that served as status symbols for their wielder and were often included as grave goods. Today, Viking axes are popular among collectors and are often used in films, television series, and video games to convey the image of the fierce and fearless Vikings.
The head shape of the Viking axe offered here corresponds to the Petersen type D. The blade of this bearded axe is made of carbon steel and hand-forged. The axe handle is made of sturdy ash wood.
This early medieval axe is primarily designed as a collectible or decorative object. It's also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume, and will make your transformation into a proud warrior simply perfect.
Due to its construction and material thickness, this axe can also be modified: with a little manual skill, the axe blade can be sharpened. Again, the edges and points can be rounded, and the cutting edge can be blunted. Depending on the intended use, the axe can be transformed into a functional work axe or a weapon suitable for stage combat.
