The axe head on the Condor Tool & Valhalla Knife - Battle Axe is made from drop forged 1060 carbon steel and is heat treated and annealed to a Rockwell hardness of approximately 50-55 Rockwell. The natural finish is a bare metal appearance that gives the axe that unique look. This finish is a perfected process of hand hammering and adds a classic, enhanced look to an already well made tool. Condor craftsmen use hand tools to preserve this traditional pattern, making it look as if it was hand forged over 200 years ago. The tanned hickory handle is sturdy and gives the axe an antique look. The included sheath is made from durable, high quality, hand crafted brown leather.
