You arrive at the front lines amidst exhausted and bloodied soldiers, who regain their strength at the sight of you at their side. With a single blow, your axe pierces the enemy line, past their shields and into their ranks.

DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Dane Axe is a deadly 150cm two-handed axe suitable for quick Viking raids and ideal for breaching shield walls and battle formations. It has a 22cm long axe blade and a 20cm cutting edge. The head is made of soft foam, reinforced with a harder foam core. It is attached to a wood-textured shaft that is hand-painted to resemble real wood grain.

Made from durable closed-cell foam around a solid fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can be sure that your LARP weapon will provide the security and appeal you desire when creating your battlefield kit.

HISTORY

• Mainly used in the 10th-11th centuries, spreading from Scandinavia to England, Ireland and Normandy
• It was finally replaced by the pole axe during the 15th century.
• The first hafted axe was created around 6000 BC using birch tar and rawhide lashings to secure the blade to its handle.
• Many battle axes served as tools and were cheaper to make than swords.
